Beth Fogarty, ELA grade 7

Welcome to a brand new school year at North Middle.  I am so excited to be your teacher and I cannot wait to explore all the wonderful literature we have ahead of us.  We will be doing a lot of reading and writing as we conquer rigorous and interesting activities, lessons and projects.  I want you to know I’m here for you and always willing to listen and chat.  Your voice will always be heard in my class.  The following are the expectations and keys to success.

Materials:  Please have a binder with a folder and divider designated for Ela materials.  Always have your agenda with you as it is your passport around the building.  Make sure you replenish supplies throughout the year, keeping pens, pencils and paper handy.

Tests and writing assignments:  It is your responsibility to make up missed tests and writing assignments.  Failure to do so will result in zeroes.  Late papers will receive five point deductions for each day late.  All writing will be kept in a student portfolio crate located in the classroom.

Be prepared each day with writing utensils, paper, binders, journals, and agendas.  It is necessary for success.  Always have a positive, healthy attitude as well. Make an effort to be kind and respectful to your classmates.  Only those who give respect, can expect it in return!

Lateness will not be tolerated.  Detention is assigned each time you arrive late.  After 3, you will receive a phone call home.

Extra help is by appointment and I can be reached each and every day between 12:00 and 12:30pm at 434-2356.  I can also be reached via email (bfogarty@bufsd.org) at your convenience.

Thanks you for reading and let’s make this a special year!
